
What is FC?
FC (short for Foreign Correspondent) is our pen pal magazine. It was published online three times a year and is bilingual (Japanese & English) Each issue had articles, world music CD reviews, and of course thousands of fresh penpal ads. Pen pal advertisements are free.
Who publishes FC?

James, Kaori, Tristan, Sarah and Hannah Zivney
James and Kaori Zivney started publishing Foreign Correspondent 1995 after James received too many penpal requests for his junior high school students to handle. Kaori is a violinist and teacher and James teaches English in schools in Tokyo and Tochigi. Currently they live near Utsunomiya, Japan with their son Tristan, young daughters Sarah and Hannah.
What happens when I subscribe to FC?
Subscribers to FC will receive the username and password for the members only section of the website by email or postal mail. The password will change every 4 months when a new issue is posted.

We love anything with an international point of view. FC is collaborative effort and we welcome unsolicited articles and artwork by our readers. If we publish your stuff you will receive a free subscription to Foreign Correspondent.
How can I get my pen pal ad on Foreign Correspondent's featured Pen Pals page?
You can place your pen pal listing for 3 months on our Featured Pen Pals page for US $20. We sometimes place free ads for a few days. Note: we run free ads one time only.
Can I pay in currencies other than US dollars or Japanese Yen?
Yes. My bank here in Japan can accept many convertible currencies. As exchange rates change often please follow this link to the Bloomberg currency converter to calculate the current rate for your currency.
How do I send a photo through email?
It is possible to send scanned photos through email. Select the attach command of your browser or email program when sending your email to us and attach your JPEG file to the email message.
How do I find a job in Japan?
Before the internet I used to say just come and read the paper. Now the job market is tighter, but the job search tools are better try Tokyo Connections to start.
